Horses can display symptoms of stress in various ways.

It can trigger fight, or flight. It can also trigger a lesser mentioned response, freeze.
You might think that is a good response but lets just call it a safer response.

I’m sure you can imagine the results of a fight or flight response but freeze has the potential to become either and at the very least does not make your horse feel relaxed, safe, happy...

… and when the horse feels stressed, we often do too!

So what can we do to help?
What resources do we have at hand that we can offer our horse to reduce his stress, thereby reducing our own?

That will be the focus of these next few lessons. I intend to offer some detailed, concrete solutions you can implement to aid your horse.
